Beacon Point House
Beacon Point House
Beacon Point, Wanaka
Beacon Point House puts a contemporary spin on tradition. The house comprises of a cluster of linked pavilions with gabled alpine roofs, and the roof of the central living pavilion is raised higher than the rest of the house. With clerestory windows along one side and fully glazed gabled ends, the roof appears to float above the house, but at the same time, it is visually anchored by the solid schist stone walls, chimneys, and stone floor.
“A contemporary pavilion- style courtyard home was the design solution for a couple on this prominent site in central Wanaka.
Natural materials and finishes have been used both inside and out to create a unique and harmonious balance to the home. Strong horizontal and vertical planes characterise this house which have been coupled with large expanses of glazing to capture the beauty of the outlook.
A considered palette of natural materials inside and out has created a uniquely modern and textural home which the clients love to live in.”
